August 7 Update

Special message from Mira Levitt, Ph.D, President of the Chapter:

Hello MA AFCC members!

As I follow in the estimable footsteps of our previous president, Kelly Zawistowski, I am thrilled to be leading our amazing MA chapter forward at such an exciting time. Thanks to our new chapter administrator, Brian Jensen, we have a terrific new website which I strongly urge you to check out.

Please access the online directory that features members names and photos with descriptive information and contact access. If your entry is there, make sure to update your information if necessary (If you’re having trouble doing that, please contact send an email to Brian. If you are not listed and would like to be, just visit the site, and click on the MA AFCC Members-Get Listed Today at the top of the page to get started.

As you probably know, as a member, you have the option to be included in the Chapter mailing list. I would like this listserv to become an interactive platform, not only for dispensing announcements, but for members to pose questions, share practice tips, and call attention to new research or training opportunities (for non-profit organizations). You can opt in for full participation, opt in for a weekly digest of messages, or opt out. As with many other items, the Chapter website has complete details on how to join and use the Mailing list/Listserv. Just click here to learn about the List. If you have any issues or questions, please send an email, and we will help you.

As you may also know, the next National Conference for AFCC will be in Boston in June 2024. Please check out the informational brochure on the AFCC website. This is a fantastic opportunity for our members to attend a National conference without extensive travel, and it is very important for our chapter to have a strong presence as hosts. I strongly encourage you to submit a presentation proposal – Let’s show all of AFCC the talent in our chapter. The deadline for submission is October 2. As this is the 30th anniversary of our chapter, we will also be planning a special celebration at the conference! More to come about the National conference in the coming months.

Our Chapter Board of Directors meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month, from 5:30-7:00, at the Law Offices of Brick, Jones, McBrien, & Hickey, at 201 First Street in Needham. They are open to all members.

I am looking forward to a productive year ahead that brings us together to learn, share, enjoy each other’s company, and find ways to do our work as effectively as possible.

With best regards,
Mira Levitt, PhD
